OHDAKA (Day Camp) Counselor Application
We host summer day camps from June to early August. Camps are located throughout East County (Troutdale, Wood Village, Gresham and Sandy) We are looking for day camp counselors to support these programs. You can apply for one week or all of the depending on your schedule. Training prior to camp will be provided and is required for all counselors to attend. This is an excellent opportunity to gain experience working with youth (camps are ages 4-7 and 8-12) and is a highly recommended step for those of your desiring a cabin counselor spot at C2R.
Camp Two Roads – Cabin Staff Application
Girls entering 10th grade or above may apply. Counselors work with Senior Staff to ensure a successful week of camp for all campers. They are responsible for a cabin and fulfill a large leadership role at camp: mentoring counselors-in-training and younger girls during the daytime and in the evening, facilitating activities during the day and leading cabin program in the evenings. They are responsible for 8-12 campers with the support of another Counselor. Upon acceptance, a refundable deposit of a $50 may be required to hold your position at camp (new counselors only). Upon arrival at camp, you can choose to add your deposit as camp store credit for the week or have it refunded to you. Failure to show up at camp forfeits the deposit.
Camp Two Roads – Senior Staff Application
Our senior staff consists of post-high school leaders who ensure that the Camp Two Roads experience reflects our overall mission. Senior Staff oversee cabin counselors, create and deliver programming activities to campers and attend to the day to day business of running C2R. Roles on our senior staff include:
Senior staff members often fulfill more than one role on staff. If you are interested in learning more about one of these roles, please contact the Camp Director, Erin McPherson at c2r@shootingstaradventures.org
This training is a stepping stone for older campers who are interested in transitioning into future camp leaders, but still enjoy the magic of being a camper. Completion of one or both levels of our leadership training program will prepare a candidate to be successful as a future camp counselor. Please note that it does not guarantee a future spot on camp staff nor is it a requirement to apply for future staff roles. All applicants must complete a CIT Application for consideration before registering as a camper.
All CIT’s are responsible to:
CIT Level 1
Our high school level campers have the option to begin training for a leadership role at C2R. While enjoying most camper program activities, they will also work with senior staff to ensure a successful week of camp for younger campers. They will participate in leadership training with Senior Staff and Cabin Counselors. This track will help to prepare them for the next step of leadership: Cabin Counselor.
CIT Level 2
If you have previously completed CIT 1 are are not quite ready to lead on your own just yet then level 2 is your next step. Here you will extend your learning from level one and put that learning into action. You will gain further leadership skills as you assist in cabin areas and around the camp in various roles.
CIT Application Process
Please note, if you are accepted as a CIT and are later accepted as a counselor, your $50 camper deposit will be changed to the $50 counselor deposit – refundable to you after completing your leadership role at camp. Any additional registration fees would be refunded.
Choosing a camp name can be one of the most challenging parts of joining a camp staff. Sometimes you don’t choose the name, the name chooses you. Here are a few links to inspire you – just remember all names must be approved by our Camp Director.
